Is executive compensation a fast-track towards corporate social responsibility? Consider Japan

The Asian economic power is somewhat conservative in executive compensation. Top executives of Japanese companies perceive only a fraction of what their European and North American counterparts earn. Stock options are treated with caution.

Interestingly, pioneering companies are implementing compensation programs that include Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) components. It could represent an increase of "200%, depending on performance."
